Coincidentally, I just started a personal project that involves canvas prints; I thought it would be cool to do caricatures of each of my family members, print them on canvas, and stretch them like paintings. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, but I ran out of time…

Cool contest Max. If I win, I would use the canvas to make a portrait of my 76 year old mother. I have an awesome picture that I found of her when she was 16 and I am currently in the process of vectorizing it with Adobe Illustrator. It’s her favorite picture of herself, and It would make an awesome 78th birthday present for her!

Postcards because I believe it would help get my freelance career started with direct mailing. Being a college student in this economy is tough, so direct mailers have been towards the bottom of my list of things to do. I believe this would help get my name out and possibly give my freelancing the boost it needs to start bringing the work/money in.

I’d love a canvas print. I’m donating work for a Safe Harbor (http://www.safeharbor.ws/about.html) fundraiser event in February. I’ve created some digital art and we’d like to auction off a print at the benefit. They are an awesome non-profit organization that help a lot of people each year and I’d love to help them make as much money as possible so they can keep things going for another year. Thanks a lot for the consideration!

I am interested in the large canvas print. :)

I just went full-time freelance so money is a little tight right now until I get a steady stream of clients. My fiance and I are getting married in the fall, but do not have the money to splurge on an extravagant wedding. It would be a wonderful wedding present to be able to put one of our engagement photos on a nice canvas. I’m a web designer with a love for photography, so it would be the perfect piece to being our life together.

    Thanks!

I would love to get a crack at the post cards if only to try out my theory that people would rather see you donate to charity than give them swag - based on my post http://www.michaelgcohen.com/2008/12/swag-is-a-dirty-4-letter-word/

Winning the post cards would let me test this out with a small company I work with.

    Wow awesome contest!
Anyway, my brother’s birthday is on the 27th of February and that’s the day before he finally goes for military service. I was thinking of an out-of-this-world birthday and going-away gift for him and an 18″x24″ canvas print with his favorite artist(s) or our family picture might do the trick. A perfect reminder of the things he love in the outside world (haha outside the walls of the military barracks) ^^

Talk about serendipity! I’m planning on donating one of my images to a benefit auction for our community’s children’s choir. They’re making a trip from Maine to NYC this spring to take part in a music festival and the auction proceeds will help defray the cost for the families. This is the biggest trip some of these kids will have made in their lives. A big canvas print — that should turn some heads at the auction. Thanks for the contest and the site!

Having freshly received a shiny new lay off from a marketing position, I know, this is a great promotion.

Either of these prizes would be fine, but my preference at the moment would be the canvas.

The reason for the choice is because my sister, many years ago, took a photo of one of the piers in Atlantic City from a great angle. The photo has traversed several computer upgrades (4) over the years and has been the single most important file to be transfered among them over the better part of a decade (even after a raid array crashed with it on it).

The reason for all this concern over a single photo file is because I have always had the intention of getting it printed on canvas, so I could gift it to my sister (in actuality I would like one too, but it being her shot, and she my sister I would enjoy the fact that she has it).

So, it would be really nice to complete the task that I set out to do so many years ago but for reasons monetary and otherwise, I never was able to.

    Thank you,
    ../sacco

250 postcards would be the perfect way to promote my recent design studio startup and get things off to a great head start. Perhaps it will offset the negative effects of a sluggish economy and too many headlines about the same! Thanks very much for this magnanimous offer.

  66. Posted January 7, 2009 |Permalink

I’d like the postcards to use in a community project on deviantART.com. These postcards would be used by deviants (our community members) as the base for an artjam, which they must then send onto someone else to add to and manipulate and then finally return to me in order to make a massive community mosiac which I will upload to our gallery and display online forever and ever and ever!
